William and Kate's scheme to take over Andrew’s home ‘overpriced’, says expert

Previous claims that William and Kate aim to take on Prince Andrew’s home are “overpriced” according to reports.The Mirror reports that the author of a new bombshell book about the royals spoke to an official who told him that a move from the Prince and Princess of Wales’ current home, Adelaide Cottage, to Andrew’s Royal Lodge - both of which are located on the Windsor Estate - “might happen but it’s not planned”.William and Kate moved from London to the Windsor pad for a quieter family life and more privacy for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Their Grade-11 listed property, which is close to Windsor Castle, only has four bedrooms so the couple don’t have live-in staff anymore.

But there had been reports previously that William and Kate could be set for a move to Royal Lodge in order to allow them to step up duties for the King in the future.

And with King Charles reportedly requesting Prince Andrew to downsize from his seven-bedroom property to Frogmore Cottage, which used to be leased by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,there were theories that it would be the Cambridges who would move into his old home. But according to Hardman's book, the pair are said to be "extremely happy" in their four-bed cottage. "They are there as a family with total privacy and without lots of staff," one official told the author.
