‘Wicked’ and ‘Conclave’ Lead Costume Designers Guild Awards Winners

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor “Wicked” and “Conclave” were the big winners of the 27th Costume Designers Guild Awards on Thursday evening.

This was the guild’s second instance awarding “Wicked” designer Paul Tazewell. He won in 2021 for “Hamilton” in the excellence in variety, reality-competition or live television category.

Tazewell has emerged as a frontrunner for the costuming Oscar. If he ends up winning, he will make history as the first Black man to win in the Academy category.

In the excellence in period film category, Linda Muir won for her work on “Nosferatu.” The awards recognized excellence in film, TV and short-form costume design and were hosted by Jackie Tohn.
