Tyrell Malacia has been dropped from the Manchester United squad for their Boxing Day fixture at Wolves. Malacia started in the previous match against Bournemouth yet conceded the free kick that the Cherries opened the scoring from in the first half and the left back was substituted at half-time.
Club sources confirmed Malacia's absence at Molineux is on selection grounds. United head coach Ruben Amorim has withdrawn Malacia after 45 minutes in three of his four starts since he recovered from a knee injury that sidelined the Dutchman for 550 days.
Noussair Mazraoui has replaced Malacia in the United starting line-up at Molineux, having replaced him in the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.
Rasmus Hojlund has been recalled at the expense of another Dutchman, Joshua Zirkzee, after he was removed before the hour against Bournemouth.
