The final week of the transfer window was always bound to throw up a few surprises but news of Manchester United's reported interest in Pierre-Emile Højbjerg certainly came out of the blue.
The Telegraph reported on Monday evening that Højbjerg had been offered to United, and with Erik ten Hag keen to add more depth in midfield between now and Friday's 11pm deadline, a move was being 'considered'.
The Dutchman has seen his side exposed in that area of the pitch and will be without Mason Mount for Sunday's trip to Arsenal.
Højbjerg had been a regular feature for Tottenham under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, but new manager Ange Postecoglou looks to have gone down another road.
