Walker was one of four right-back chosen in the initial England squad, reduced to three after Trent Alexander-Arnold's injury.
Walker started the first group game against Croatia at right-back, with Keiran Trippier used out of position on the left. However, for the second game against Scotland, Southgate dropped the Manchester City defender all together, picking Reece James on the right and Luke Shaw on the left.
