Ryan has had a tough year after he jumped in the way of Justin Rutherford as he threw acid at Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
He suffered severe burns to his neck and face which led to a long recovery. Feeling insecure about his injuries, he went on to abuse steroids as he shared videos of himself online working out, which he received plenty of comments about.
He's also had his heart broken several times as he believed he had been dumped by Crystal - who was actually in a coma - and Daisy refused to end her relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) despite their tryst.
