Why Did Rosamund Pike Wear a Black Veil to the 2024 Golden Globes?

This is mostly because she accessorized her black lace tea-dress with a black fascinator veil like an Italian widow in the 1960s.
According to Pike, she wasn't just trying to channel her inner with this look.
