Chelsea are ahead of Real Madrid and Manchester United in the race for Kai Havertz. The 21-year-old is considered one of the best talents in the Bundesliga despite his lack of experience, and he is set to be the subject of interest from several European giants when the transfer window reopens.
Havertz managed 17 goals in 34 league outings last season and added a further 11 goals this time out, while showing his versatility by playing in a string of different positions.
That goalscoring return has led to Premier League links, but it is Frank Lampard’s Blues that are in pole position after making their intentions clear.
