Manchester City are set to be without Rodri for three matches following his red card against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. The Blues midfielder was given his marching orders after raising his hands to the neck of Morgan Gibbs-White just minutes after half-time, with VAR concurring with referee Anthony Taylor's decision.
His dismissal for violent conduct means he will miss three matches. The ban applies to all domestic competitions, meaning he will miss the midweek trip to Newcastle in the League Cup.
He'll also miss the trip to Wolves next Saturday but will be able to feature against RB Leipzig in the Champions League with domestic suspensions not applying in Europe.
However, Rodri will miss a crunch clash with Arsenal the following Sunday, October 8, at the Emirates. City have the right to appeal.
