Manchester City have confirmed their place in the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League after comfortably seeing off the challenge of Sporting Lisbon.
Having already beaten their Portuguese counterparts 5-0 in the first leg of their last-16 tie, Pep Guardiola’s side got the job done at the Etihad on Wednesday to book their place in the last eight.
City now go into the hat for the quarter-final draw and can look forward to a mouth-watering tie with some big names already through.
Manchester United will be hoping to join them next week, although their tie against Atletico Madrid hangs firmly in the balance following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
