Users of social media and messaging apps WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are reporting issues worldwide. People have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say that they are unable to send messages, or view the latest posts on the Meta-controlled apps.
According to the service status website Down Detector, users began reporting issues with WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook just before 6pm on Wednesday (December 11). Meta is an American technology company co-owned by billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg, and formerly known as Facebook. Recently, it was reported that 3.29 billion people used at least one of Meta's core products daily.
