With temperatures dropping, it can be hard to know what to dress babies in at bedtime. So many parents have been searching online to find the 'ideal temperature for baby room in winter' that a guide has been put together with everything they need to know.
Leading UK baby accessory brand Nuby has revealed exactly what babies should wear for bed according to the temperature. When it's below 16 degrees for example, it suggests a 2.5+ tog sleeping bag and to put the baby in a vest and a babygrow. In a room that's 24 degrees or more, they'd just need a lighter 0.5 tog sleeping bag along with a vest.
Experts do say however that the ideal temperature is between 16 and 20 degrees. "While it can be tempting to turn up the heating during the winter, it's important that your baby doesn't get too hot," says the guide. "If you're unsure about the room temperature, buying a baby room thermometer can be a useful way to check the temperature whenever your baby is asleep." It adds: "In the colder winter months, most babies don't need to wear extra layers.
