It's been off our screens for five years - but Big Brother is back. The hit reality show, which previously finished in 2018, has been revived for a new series on ITV.

Big Brother first aired on Channel 4 in 2000 and ran until 2018 - after being broadcast on Channel 5 from 2011 - before it was cancelled due to a drop in ratings.

However ITV announced in August 2022 that it was to bring the show and famous house back with “contemporary new look”. Speaking at the time Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning and acquisitions and controller of ITV2, ITVBe and CITV, said: “This refreshed, contemporary new series of Big Brother will contain all the familiar format points that kept viewers engaged and entertained the first time round, but with a brand new look and some additional twists that speak to today’s audience. AJ, 35, previously hosted Big Brother's Bit on the Side on Channel 5 and Channel 4 reality show spin off Married at First Sight: Afters.
