Many parts of the region woke up to a blanket of heavy snow today following two days of adverse weather conditions. A yellow weather warning for snow was issued by the Met Office for Greater Manchester, which was originally in place until 10am today (Tuesday).
The warning has now been extended until 2pm on Thursday - New Year's Eve.It is in place for the whole of our region and a large part of the North West.Met Office forecasters predict snow will arrive from the north later on Wednesday, moving south through to Thursday morning.This could lead to travel disruption.Icy conditions are expected over Wednesday.
