Coronavirus infection rates remain relatively high in Bury with more than 50 new cases confirmed in the past week. The borough has the second highest infection rate of any area in Greater Manchester as households prepare to transfer to a new phase in the Covid-19 lockdown next week.
In in the seven days leading up to Wednesday this week, there were 52 confirmed coronavirus cases in Bury, according the government's published statistics.
It means a total of 745 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Bury since the pandemic began. When adjusted for the size of population, Bury has had 392 cases per 100,000 residents - which is the second highest infection rate in Greater Manchester.
