Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told his former striker Mario Gotze to join a team where he can become an important first-team player this summer.
The 28-year-old played under Klopp during his first spell at Dortmund before leaving to join Bayern Munich in 2013. Since rejoining Dortmund in 2016 Gotze has struggled to recapture his past fine form, and will be looking for a new club this summer with his contract set to expire.
Some have linked Gotze with a reunion with Klopp at Liverpool, but speaking to Klopp appeared to play down the rumours by suggesting he should go to a club where he is guaranteed a place in the starting line-up week in week out.
