Sir Alex Ferguson has already hailed Carlo Ancelotti as “one of the best managers the game has seen” amid reports linking the current Real Madrid boss with Manchester United.
Ancelotti is under consideration for United manager’s job — according to ESPN — as the club continue their search for a permanent appointment.
The Reds are looking to have a deal arranged for their new man before the end of the season. Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag remain the frontrunners, having been linked to the role since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking in November.
Other names, such as Brendan Rodgers and Luis Enrique, have been touted as possible successors to interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
