A reminder that a ‘progressive pass’ is a pass that is 30m long when the pass starts in the team’s own half or at least 10m in length in the opponent’s half.
The list of the top 20 players for progressive passers attempted had a high number of City players in it, with each of Fernandinho, Benjamin Mendy, Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko all making the cut - although it’s important to add that defenders and deep-lying midfielders do tend to dominate this metric given their deep positions on the pitch.
