Alejandro Garnacho starred in Manchester United's 7-0 thumping of Barnsley in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, scoring two and creating two.
After stepping off the bench to score in Saturday's 3-0 win at Southampton, the Argentine was rewarded with a starting berth for the visit of the League One side and repaid manager Erik ten Hag's faith by creating Marcus Rashford's opener after 16 minutes.
He then scored his first and United's third of the evening just before half-time, poking the ball home from inside the box after it had fallen his way, ahead of netting his second shortly after the restart with a composed finish. Substituted with 84 minutes on the clock, Garnacho was greeted by Ten Hag, who shared a joke with the Argentine as they embraced.
