The Trotters had chances to go ahead in the first half and hit the bar early on through Declan John. Wanderers also struck the bar through Gethin Jones and Eoin Doyle had a goal ruled out for offside.
But the point and clean sheet at home ensures Bolton's unbeaten run continues and lifted them into the League Two automatic promotion spots, which they remained in after the conclusion of Good Friday's action.
