Members of West Lothian’s Prostate Cancer Support Group have been highlighting the importance of getting tested early. The men were outside Asda in Livingston recently spreading the vital message.
With the help of Asda’s Community Manager, Abi Lorraine, the group issued 600 leaflets explaining about ‘Understanding Prostate Cancer’ and the need for early testing.
They also issued leaflets about how the support group’s Buddy Scheme is also so important for men seeking advice on treatments and hearing about the experience of other men who have been through this difficult time and got their lives back on track.
They also raised £250.00 with the donations for their Man Badges to support Prostate UK research. This event was part of the UK Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and with more men in Scotland being first diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, it’s vital that more men need to get tested earlier.
