Having been bullied for her size as a child, mum-of-two Ronnie Fennell spent her entire life trying to lose weight. The 62-year-old attempted every diet under the sun but nothing seemed to help her slim down – eventually seeing her reach a weight of 22st 10lbs.
The personal assistant finally decided to change her lifestyle for good after her daughter’s wedding in August 2022. However hard I tried, I couldn’t lose weight – I was piling it on rather than losing it. “On the day of the wedding, it was a hot day and I was trying to look my best.
But when the photos came back, I just cried. I thought, is that really what I look like? That was the trigger.” Several months later, Ronnie was scrolling on Facebook when she saw a post about Greater Manchester and Cheshire based slimming group Beeweighed.
