E.ON chief executive Michael Lewis recently warned that up to 40 per cent of households could be in fuel poverty by the end of the year due to rising energy bill costs.

In a bid to help shoppers, a number of supermarkets have already announced price drops. For example, Asda has reduced the price of more than 100 products and has locked the cuts in place until the end of the year.
