Wayne Rooney believes Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff need to have "honest conversations" with Marcus Rashford in an attempt to get to the root of his ongoing struggles.
Rashford, despite starting United's opening two Premier League fixtures this season, has struggled for form over the last 12 months, scoring just five goals in all competitions since the start of last season.
As last season went on, genuine concerns about the academy graduate's welfare were raised, as he was performing as though something was playing on his mind.
He enjoyed a productive pre-season, producing a handful of encouraging performances during the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.
