Some staffers resigned in protest, as Bezos’ decision was viewed as a way to appease Trump as the Post editorial board was set to back Kamala Harris.

During Trump’s initial term, he routinely bashed Bezos over the Post’s coverage of his administration. Trump threatened to investigate Amazon for antitrust violations.
