Donald Trump Nominates Fox News Host Pete Hegseth As Secretary Of Defense

Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and Army combat veteran, has been nominated by Donald Trump to serve as his secretary of defense.

Trump said in a statement: “Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First.

With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down.” Hegseth co-hosts Fox & Friends Weekend and joined the network as a contributor in 2014.

He last co-hosted the show on Sunday, and his deal with the network ended today, according to Fox News. Fox News said in a statement: “Pete Hegseth has been an exceptional host on Fox & Friends and Fox Nation and a best-selling author for Fox News Books for nearly a decade.
