Surgeons cut out a football-sized tumour from a Chinese patient’s armpit. The man’s tumour grew rapidly during the two-month lockdown, because he could not seek medical attention.
Mr Xiao, from the city of Xi’an in China, consulted doctors recently after hospitals once again began scheduling elective surgeries.
Medics were shocked when Xiao revealed a giant malignant growth developing in his armpit, which he explained first occurred two years ago.
His doctor, Xia Peng says: “When he unbuttoned his shirt, I saw an enormous growth under his arm. We were very shocked.” Xiao said the tumour which began as the size of an egg, had been removed in early 2019.
