Ethan Shanfeld Have you ever wanted to host “Saturday Night Live,” but you’ve never been asked because you’re not an A-list celebrity?

Well, your prayers have been answered (kinda). With an immersive experience taking place at New York City’s Rockefeller Center, NBC is giving fans the chance to “feel what it’s like” to host the revered sketch comedy series, now in its 50th season.

Running Thursday, Jan. 30, to Sunday, Feb. 2, “Live From New York: The SNL50 Experience,” will make regular people feel like stars, “from the thrill of hearing your name announced as you burst through the stage doors to rolling your chair up to the Weekend Update desk.” Per NBC, “Every attendee will experience both the on-camera magic and off-camera rush of ‘SNL’; with surprises and callbacks around every corner that celebrate 50 years of famed sketches and the signature spontaneous nature that’s defined the series since 1975.” The experience is free and open to the public, with reservations operating on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning Tuesday, Jan.
