A violent brute left his sister fearing he was going to kill her as he viciously attacked and strangled her. David Rowan pummelled his sibling with blows "as if she were a punchbag" before hitting his mother when she tried to break it up.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that the 39-year-old was living with his mum in Bensham, Gateshead, this summer, with his sister staying nearby.
On July 21, the mother had been out and her daughter had been unable to contact her, so she went round to her home, Chronicle Live reports.
Claire Anderson, prosecuting, said: "They were talking when the defendant came in and was angry and shouting at his sister 'don't think I'm f***ing taking you home'.
