Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.
With her new presidential action flick G20, Viola Davis understands the desire to politicize her role. Noting they made the movie before Kamala Harris lost the 2024 election to Donald Trump, the Oscar winner can see “probably in hindsight” how her butt-kicking politician character President Danielle Sutton might make voters long for what could have been. “I do not think it’s a suspension of disbelief to imagine someone who looks like me as the president,” Davis told UK’s The Times.
Davis also explained why President Sutton’s political party is never clarified in the film. “If you get down to the nitty gritty, we just wanna reach people,” she said of the movie, hitting theaters April 10.
Although her onscreen counterpart is undeclared, Davis endorsed Harris for president in November, narrating the former Democratic vice president’s ‘Mother‘ campaign video.
Directed by Patricia Riggen, G20 takes place at the annual summit of world leaders, where terrorists have taken over and President Sutton has to bring all her statecraft and military experience to defend her family, her fellow leaders and the world.
