Vile man wished mother of his baby "dies a slow and painful death"

A vile man told the mother of his baby that he wished she had a “slow and painful death.”David Adams and his partner Lauren McGinlay were drinking at a pub in Bridge of Weir in December last year, when he fell out with her because she didn’t buy him a drink when he was at the toilet.Then Adams, 34, sent McGinlay a catalogue of abusive text messages via WhatsApp spanning over six weeks before she contacted police.Paisley Sheriff Court heard Adams and McGinlay had been in a relationship for about 12 months with it coming to an end in August 2021.The pair also have a six-month old baby together.Procurator fiscal depute Maria Murdoch told the court: “On December 18, the accused and the complainer were in a pub in Bridge of Weir trying to make their relationship work for the benefit of their son.“Around 11.30pm, the accused left the bar as he had fallen out with the complainer after she didn’t buy him a drink while he was at the toilet.“Adams went back to McGinlay’s property in Houston Road and videoed himself kicking her door and he sent her the video on WhatsApp.” Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.
