Vigil to be held for tragic tot who was allegedly murdered

A vigil is set to be held for a tot who tragically died after an incident at a home. The news comes as Carol Hodgson, 39, was charged with Daniel Green's, two, murder and appeared in court on February 8.Teesside Live reports that residents of Guisborough, Yorkshire, are now rallying round to pay their respects to the youngster and the community are to gather at 5pm on February 10 outside Upper Garth Gardens, where the alleged incident occurred.

In a post on Facebook, organiser Sadie Pattison wrote: "Guisborough, let's show some love for two-year-old Daniel who has sadly lost his life. "Just to come and lay a teddy or flowers and light candles to pay respects for the little boy."Scores of tributes have already been left at the scene where Daniel allegedly died last Wednesday.

As reported, Hodgson, of Upper Garth Gardens in Guisborough, first appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Monday before the case was sent to the crown court.

Wearing a grey jumper, she did not enter a plea, and the case has been adjourned until the next hearing at the same court in April.The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Paul Watson QC, told Hodgson: “The case will now be adjourned until April 12.“The trial is going to take place if we possibly can on June 13.“The next hearing you will be required to attend will be on April 12.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
