A Scots woman has learned how to walk again after catching a deathly illness on holiday. Erin Dawe Lane's world 'went dark' after her splitting headache was revealed to be meningitis after a trip to Croatia.
The 27-year-old, from Edinburgh, suffered a 'disconnect' between her brain and body before blacking out while in her mum’s car on the way to hospital.
She awoke four weeks later from a coma in hospital having shed two stone and was unable to hold a pen, reports Edinburgh Live.
Now after battling the cruel brain infection Erin is set to complete an emotional recovery by taking on a distance run at the Edinburgh marathon.
