Victoria Beckham has hit back at claims she was ‘too Posh to push’ when she gave birth to son Brooklyn. The 49 year old former Spice Girl, who went by the nickname Posh, addressed the taunts on her husband David’s new Netflix series BECKHAM - revealing how she was told it would be unsafe for her to go into labour with their first child.
Victoria gave birth to Brooklyn, now 24, by caesarean section in 1999 - and she was dubbed ‘too Posh to push’ in some parts of the media, who believed the method of delivery was a lifestyle choice.
But, speaking on the Netflix show, she said: “I wasn't too posh to push, I was told it would not be safe for me to be put into labour.” She did not specify why it would not be safe to give birth vaginally.
Victoria and David also opened up on their fears for Brooklyn’s safety after he was born.Their eldest son was born the year after the 1998 World Cup - a tournament that saw David become the most hated man in England after he was shown a red card in the last 16 knockout match against Argentina for a petulant kick out at opposition midfielder Diego Simeone.
