Victor Lindelof believes 'consistency' has been the biggest problem for Manchester United this season as they head into the final four matches of the campaign almost certain to miss out on Champions League qualification.
United had been billed as genuine Premier League title challengers this season but currently occupy sixth place in the table, six points behind Arsenal in fourth, who also have a game in hand.
There was also an expectation to win silverware, but United were dumped out of the Carabao Cup early on by West Ham, the FA Cup by Middlesbrough and the Champions League by Atletico Madrid.
It means United only realistically have pride to play for in their final matches of the season, and Lindelof admits the fans deserve much better. “I think we need to find more stability in the way we’re playing, and we need to win more games,” he told United Review. “We’ve been winning one game, then drawing one, then we lose one, then we win two games… we need to be more consistent in everything we do.
