A rare coin which was created to mark the Battle of Hastings in 1066 is flogging on eBay for a whopping £12,500. It was issued in 2016 to commemorate the battle fought between the Norman-French army of William, the Duke of Normandy and an English army under the Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson.
The Battle of Hastings began the Norman conquest in England which is an extremely important part of the country’s history. Now to mark the battle which changed who was in charge, a 50p coin was created to signify the fight in 1066.
