At the end of her slot and the start of Vernon's this morning, Zoe, 54, said: "This is actually our last handover talking to each other." This prompted Vernon to launch an emotional farewell to his long-time colleague.
The presenter, 50, said: "Well I'm going to say my bit now. Listen, all I'm going to say is thank you. Not only for being an on-air pal.
But also for being someone who is absolutely awesome. An absolute rock. "Prior to me joining Radio 2 we've had many many conversations and you've been an absolute superstar.
