Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

A van driver is accused of killing a teenager while his windscreen was obscured by a "tablet device".Brian Macrorie is said to have struck Guihua Ziyi Sun, 19, in Ayr on March 5, 2021.The 57-year-old is claimed to have been behind the wheel of the van which allegedly had the wrong number plate.Prosecutors state his view was affected by the tablet "being affixed to the windscreen".Macrorie is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout on the road ahead resulting in him not spotting pedestrians Miss Sun and another person.He is said to have a made a right-hand turn - and with his view obscured - hit Miss Sun in Seafield Road, Ayr at the crossroads junction with Racecourse Road.She was left so severely hurt that she passed away at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow on March 13, 2021.The case called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow, where Macrorie's legal team pled not guilty to a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.A trial was fixed with it due to start in March 2024.Macrorie, of Minishant, Ayrshire, remains on bail meantime.
