The United States is set for a rematch of the 2020 presidential election. Donald Trump clinched the Republican nomination for November's election overnight (March 12).

The 45th US president will take on the 46th, Joe Biden, who has secured the nomination for the Democrats. It will be the first rematch in a US presidential election since 1956.

Mr Biden defeated Mr Trump in the November 2020 vote - but controversy followed as the former president refused to accept the result.
