Concerned residents have been left "upset and angry" after vandals ripped down a historic monument.Yesterday a walker discovered that the Two Lads cairn on Winter Hill had been partially torn down, with the stones which make up the structure pulled away.The tower of rocks is a historic feature of the moorland and is said to be a memorial to two young men who died after getting stuck on the hills.It is a popular focal point for ramblers and stands on a number of trails which lead between Horwich and Rivington and to the pike at the summit of Winter Hill.It is not clear who damaged the tower but it is thought to have happened before 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday) and local councillors are looking into repairing it.Coun Peter Wright, who.
