Unveiling of new war memorial in Perth delayed due to COVID-19

An event was to have taken place on Friday, November 6, in time for the country’s Remembrance Day services and parades.Organisers are disappointed at the postponement but the ceremony will take place at a later date, yet to be decided.New stand-alone nursery could cost council £100,000 per childThe splendid new structure has been built in St John Street, at the rear of historic St John’s Kirk, which houses the city’s war memorial to those lost in conflicts during two world wars.

The first dedicated war memorial for all veterans in the Fair City, it has been made possible thanks to the unstinting work carried out by the Association of Perth Veterans (APV).
