Megan Campbell, 22, had her niece with her when she borrowed a friend’s van to go and pick up some food on the evening of May 24, this year.

But she was unlicensed and had no insurance – prompting her to panic when she saw a police patrol car following her at 6.43pm.

Officers signalled for Campbell to pull over, but she continued to drive the white Citroen van initially within the 30mph speed limit along Waterloo Road.
