Under-fire Strictly star Wynne Evan's marriage split sparked irrational fear
ok.co.ukWynne Evans, known for his role in the Go Compare adverts, has bravely shared his mental health struggles following the breakdown of his first marriage.The 52 year old Welsh tenor faced an "irrational fear" after parting ways with Tanwen in 2016.The pair, who met during a British Youth Orchestra course and got engaged at Cardiff Central Station, married in 1999 and had two children, Ismay and Taliesin.
However, after 17 years together, their relationship ended in divorce. The Strictly Come Dancing star has been candid about how the separation took a toll on his mental well-being, leading to clinical depression and significant weight gain, with Wynne tipping the scales at 22 stone.
In a heartfelt interview earlier this year on BBC Radio Wales, he revealed the depth of his despair, even considering suicide at one point. "It was almost like grief, but you can't grieve for somebody that's still there.
So, it really affected my mental health, my confidence and my ego - it totally changed me as a person," he shared poignantly.
