Claudia Winkleman unveils 'worst beauty disaster' and cheekily compares herself to Strictly star

In an unearthed interview, Claudia Winkleman compared herself to Strictly Come Dancing star Toyah Willcox after a beauty disaster - long before the women crossed paths on this year's edition of the BBC competition.Toyah, a 90s pop legend, was the second celebrity to be eliminated from the dancing show along with her professional partner Neil Jones, with presenter Claudia amongst those waving goodbye to the duo.

But it seems Claudia has been a fan of Toyah's for many years, as she even cheekily compared herself to the singer 15 years ago.

In a 2009 interview, Claudia was asked what her worst beauty disaster has been, replying: "I found a bottle of Sun-In when I was 14 and my hair looked like Toyah’s the next day." Elsewhere in the interview, Claudia jested that Minnie Mouse was her 'beauty icon' and said that she didn't like the idea of plastic surgery, with going under the knife making her feel 'so squeamish'.Toyah was the oldest contestant on this series of Strictly, facing some tough competition as she went against stars such as Wynne Evans, Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, Chris McCausland and many more.The 66 year old singer and actress was the second celebrity to be eliminated from the 20th anniversary series of the BBC dance competition, after facing off against former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson in a dance-off.

After being axed, Toyah said she was "gutted" to be leaving the show, but wouldn't let her early exit overshadow the "fantastic time" she had.
