Perth and Kinross youngsters have this week been enjoying free bus travel. On Monday, January 31 a scheme offering free bus travel to anyone under 22 opened in Scotland.Youngsters aged five to 21 can now apply for a national entitlement card giving them free bus and coach travel throughout Scotland.Children under the age of five could already travel for free and do not need a card.
Kinross-shire SNP councillor Richard Watters made sure to join his 20-year-old daughter Abi as she took the electric Ember bus from Kinross to Edinburgh.
He said: “She’s a frequent traveller on the bus and takes it to Edinburgh a few times a week. It’s really handy as well as you can take your bike on it and she can cycle round Edinburgh.
She is delighted.” Meanwhile in Perth, City Centre SNP councillor Andrew Parrott was with Perth resident and former Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament Liam Fowley.
