Ukrainian Independence Day is just around the corner and Manchester will be celebrating the day by giving the public a wide range of cultural aspects to try out Ukrainian Independence Day will occur on August 24 and marks the day the country became independent from the Soviet Union in 1991.
The day will also mark 18 months since Russia officially invaded Ukraine (24 February). Last year, Manchester opened the ‘MCR Ukraine Welcome Fund’ and has raised around £70,000.

Manchester’s Ukrainian Independence Day will take place at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Cheetham Hill and will start at 1pm and stay open till late.
The event will feature many cultural differences and will feature music, traditional food, arts and crafts, dance and even children’s entertainment to include all members of families.
