UK weather forecast: Early cloud and rain for much of the country, with strong winds on the coasts

In the early hours, a large band of rain will spread right across the western side of the country and gradually move in a southeasterly direction. However, there are currently no weather warnings in place anywhere in the UK for Friday, October 1 (or the rest of the weekend).
