Back then we saw a sizzling 32.8C – a record for a late May bank holiday. High pressure is heading towards Britain today, with forecasters predicting temperatures will reach the high 20Cs on Monday and then hover around 25C until Sunday.
And Ladbrokes offered odds of just 4/7 that the magical 30C mark will be breached. A spokesman said: "Brits can look forward to sizzling temperatures over the next few days, and with things only getting hotter we’re strapping ourselves in for a record-breaking year on the weather front."
