UK weather: Flood-hit towns told to brace for more heavy rain with warning issued

Flood-hit parts of Wales face more misery, with yellow weather warnings issued for Monday and Tuesday. The rain alert covers large swathes of Mid Wales, which were heavily hit by Storm Dennis last month.

Up to 80mm of rain is expected to fall, the Met Office warns, as further spells of wet and windy weather hit the UK. The Met Office warning states: "Further spells of wet and windy weather are expected to arrive from the west on Monday and then affect much of the country into Tuesday. "Rainfall could become prolonged and heavy in places, especially on some higher ground in western areas, before clearing later on Tuesday. "Many western areas are likely to see 10 to 20 mm of rain with upland areas likely to see 20 to 40 mm.
