The UK's coronavirus death toll in all settings has increased by 563 in the past 24 hours. This brings the UK's officially recorded death toll to 50,928.
The Department of Health has tonight announced the figure after some delay, having hours earlier revealed the new number of cases has recorded the highest-ever single day jump of 33,470.
Yesterday, there were 595 deaths recorded, and this was the highest rise in the death toll in a single day since May 13, when 614 deaths were confirmed.
Over the last seven days alone, the DoH reports there have been 2,808 deaths from coronavirus in the UK. Business secretary Alok Sharma, speaking live from Downing Street from 5pm today, revealed the rolling seven day average of daily deaths within 28 days
